Queensland has a world class vocational education and training (VET) system, which provides innovative, customised training products and services. It is founded on strong links with industry enabling the state to develop innovative vocational education solutions that meet the needs of employers.
Queensland's VET system includes an extensive network of public and privately owned training providers, which deliver training and skilling services to over 300,000 people each year. These providers include the Queensland Government owned TAFE Queensland system, comprising 13 institutes which services from over 80 campuses across the state; the state-run Australian Agricultural Colleges of Queensland (five campuses); and over 1200 registered training organisations. These organisations include privately owned colleges, local governments (councils), community bodies and industry enterprises.
The VET Export Office represents Queensland's VET sector interests as part of the department's international sector. Its role is to support the growth and sustainability of the Queensland VET sector's international engagement.
Acting as a central point of contact for international business development within the VET sector, the VET Export Office provides support and services to all VET providers and clients in the following key areas:
The VET Export Office acts as a broker for clients seeking to access the full range of services of Queensland industry and VET sector. As part of the department, the VET Export Office can mobilise a whole-of-state capability utilising combined industry, government and community expertise. The Queensland government's consultancies and partnerships can respond to any business or government agency seeking to design, enhance or implement a vocational education and training system of program.
