What is NetMeeting?

NetMeeting is a program used by facilitators during real time lessons that allows them to work easily with their online students through:

  • sharing programs;
  • allowing participants to send and receive files;
  • chatting with multiple participants;
  • explaining concepts by using a synchronous whiteboard.

How do I set up NetMeeting on my computer?

If you are using Windows XP

You already have NetMeeting installed; download the NetMeeting configuration notes - this will provide you with step by step information on configuring NetMeeting.

If you are using Windows Vista

NetMeeting is not supported with Windows Vista. We are currently investigating to see if a solution can be found.

If you are using an older version of Windows

(eg. Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 2000)
You have NetMeeting installed but it may not be the latest version. Open NetMeeting and check to see if it is version 3.01. Download the latest version of NetMeeting 3.01.

If you are using another operating system

(eg. MAC OSX, Linux)
NetMeeting does not support other operating systems.
