Getting started

View the tutorials
We have created tutorials to help you learn how to set up your podcast rooms. You can pause or play again any section. Help notes are located at the bottom of each tutorial.

How to set up a project room
  Add a podcast activity
  Add a banner
Size limit
Each Podcast room is allocated a size limit 250Mb as the default. You can request this limit to be increased.
Bandwidth
Keep you podcasts small in size. If you have a large file then trim it or cut it up into smaller chapters. Some schools only have 128K and 256K bandwidth so uploading a 250Mb file will take hours for one student to download.
RSS feeds
To use the RSS feed option you will need an aggregator (eg. iTunes or Juice) or browser that accepts RSS feeds (eg. IE7 or Firefox 2). Our MOE is currently IE6 so you will need to ask your school technician to set this up on your school computers.
Add a banner
Personalise your project room with a banner that improves the look and feel of your learning activity.
Note: optimise your banner image so your room loads quickly.

You can add a banner image, a banner background and a special image called a Campaign. This smaller image is located in the top right or left of your banner and links to any relevant website eg. an industry project partner or your school website. It is an optional feature.
Navigation
Personalise the navigation by removing the Learning Place left nav menu. You have two choices: No left menu (use the biscuit trail) or add your own if you know html code.

We value your feedback and hope to create eLearning environments that meet your needs.
