Information for non-state schools

Queensland non-state schools are invited to access the Learning Place (including the Curriculum Exchange resource centre) from 1st July, 2007.

Register your interest today by completing the online subscription form.

The subscription fee is based on a calendar year. A six month pro-rata rate is available if accompanied by a subscription for the following twelve months.

How to join

Step 1

Check your licence to use content from The Le@rning Federation

As the Learning Place includes content from The Le@rning Federation (TLF), all institutions need to be covered by a TLF licence D for educational use before registering as a Learning Place Affiliate, read more...

Step 2

Select your level of access

Determine the level of access that best suits your school’s learning needs for the year.

Level 1: Access to Curriculum Exchange resource centre only [read what's included]
Cost of level 1 access

The annual fee for level 1 access is $2.50 AU (ex GST) per school member. This access is conditional upon the registration of all teaching staff, school leaders and students*.

Example: If you have 80 students and 20 staff in total the calculation for subscription cost would be: (80 students + 20 staff) x $2.50 = $250.00 (ex GST).

Your school will need to nominate a Learning Place Local Administrator (LPLA) to manage staff and student membership through the Learning Place Administration System. Help materials will be provided for the task.

* Note: Level 1 access is conditional on a whole of school subscription.

Level 2: Access to the Learning Place (including Curriculum Exchange resource centre) [read what's included]
Cost of level 2 access

The annual fee for level 2 access is $27.00 AU (ex GST) per school member. This level is available to teaching staff, school leaders and students requiring access. If your school decides to have a specific group with level 2 access, your entire school needs to be a registered Level 1 Affiliate*.

With level 2 access, teaching staff have a duty of care obligation to be present in all synchronous communication areas, courses and projects. The recommended ratio is 1 teaching staff member to 25 students.

Example: If you have 100 students and staff in total and you would like 20 to have full Learning Place Affiliate access (level 2) the calculation for subscription cost would be: (80 staff and students x $2.50) + (20 staff and students x $27.00) = $740.00 (ex GST).
