The menus below may be similar to what you might see in your course or
community. They may not all be used and some may have different names.
Instructors and managers can choose different items for their course.

The Announcements is usually the
first page you see when entering your course. It provides day-by-day,
week-by-week announcements. Instructors and managers can use it
to notify participants of course updates, important notices and
general information. |

Course Information is used to provide
general information about the course or community. It may include
work program, semester outlines, assessment schedules, objectives
and outcomes. |

Provides information about teaching staff. As an
instructor it is recommended that you provide brief contact details
and a photo to help personalise your course. |
|
This is the main course content area. All of your
curriculum content should 'sit' in this area. Subject content, activities,
uploaded quizzes and downloadable document files would be placed
here. |

List any assessment tasks to be completed. Provides
assignment descriptions as well as tests, quizzes and surveys. |

List of links to external webpages |
|
Communication tools such as e-mail, discussion boards
and virtual classroom. This area provides you with access to email
addresses of course participants, discussion forums and group pages. |
| Course Tools includes personal tools such as calendar, webpage,
grade book. This area is mainly used by participants. Use the tools
to edit your homepage, exchange files, check and edit calendar and
check test scores in the gradebook. |

Course Map shows the reflective
location of all course content. |
|
Control Panel button appears only
if you are the instructor or manager of a community or course.
Participants
do not
see this button. It links you to functions to
manage a course or community. This is the working area for instructors
and managers. It provides access to
- add resources and information to each of the
menu areas
- enable and disable options
- customise your course.
