Earth Challenge HQ: What is sustainable development?

A key feature of Earth Challenge HQ is the online course for students consisting of three units of work:

  1. Eye Opener - the global realities of social, environmental and economic issues facing the world today
  2. Smaller Size - the concept of an ecological footprint and options for reducing its size
  3. Speak Up - the concept of global citizenship.

Different learning pathways of Years 4-7 and Years 8-12 cater for a range of student ability and learning styles. Interactive learning objects enhance students' online experiences. Sample activities are available for you to use with your students.

Teachers are supported through the provision of a Teacher Toolkit and a browse topic 'Sustainable development' on the Curriculum Exchange resource centre.
