This unit will introduce you to the basics of genetics. It will provide you with information with which you can develop an understanding of the way characteristics are inherited through sexual reproduction. You will also begin to understand the genetics underlying many tragic human conditions. Finally, you will examine ways in which we can alleviate the suffering of victims of inherited disease, and eliminate these diseases altogether.
