The changing world

From the end of the Roman Empire to the Industrial Revolution – how did events in the past affect the way we live today? This unit explores Europe following the collapse of the Roman Empire, and examines why this period is known as the Dark Ages. It then journeys into the times of King Arthur, knights and the Crusades, the Mediaeval Period, and examines social changes that influenced the way we live today. The course also covers two major revolutions: the Agrarian and Industrial revolutions, which also had massive impacts on today's world.
