Content and presentation

Time spent designing a look and feel for a website always pays off in the long run. Visitors feel more comfortable getting around the website and in accessing the information in the site. Issues to consider during the design stage include:

  • The intended audience
  • Organising your content
  • Using techniques with consistency
  • Formatting text and organising the display
  • Developing a clear navigation
  • Proofreading the finished work
  • File sizes

Visitors appreciate sites that are intuitive and that take advantage of common web techniques such as the use of a link to the homepage from every page in the site. Planning the presentation for a site encourages the visitor to concentrate on the content of the site.

If you've got the content for an online course but lack confidence with the technology please contact The Learning Place.
