Online courses take time and require regular effort on your part. Please consider the following areas to help you select the right online course for your needs.
Time: check the suggested time the course takes to complete. Each course will provide an 'effort required' as a guide. For example if it is a six week course with eighteen hours of effort this will include online and offline time (to read, write and reflect). You would need to schedule three hours per week for this course.
Content: read the course description and make sure the content suits your learning and development needs. Always contact the course facilitator for further information if you are unsure. Your motivation is important to your success.
Cost: check the cost of the course and find out if your school or workplace will help cover the cost. Course costs are kept to a minimum and help pay for materials, course development and quality facilitation.
Learning style: reflect on your own learning style. Do you rely on face-to-face interactions? Are you a self-directed learner?
