Winners of this year’s Online Cartooning Competition Challenge 2 will be the lucky recipients of online chats with two of Australia’s top political cartoonists, Peter Nicholson and Andrew Weldon.

The talented two, whose sharp and witty cartoons appear in newspapers such as The Australian and The Sydney Morning Herald, will share their knowledge and expertise through online chats with the challenge winners and their classmates.

In its third year, the Online Cartooning Competition gives students who enjoy expressing themselves through art and graphics the opportunity to showcase their skills online.

‘The competition uses ICT to challenge visual and graphic learners to show their creativity by drawing cartoons and sharing them in a blog gallery,’ says Hazel Orr, a Smart Classrooms Mentor for the Sunshine Coast South area.

`Each student learns differently and the Online Cartooning Competition is an excellent opportunity for those students who may struggle with text-based learning to express themselves through their images.’

The competition consists of four challenges. Students can enter any or all of the challenges open to their age group.
