Basic training in SCIS searching and downloading

A free half-day training program will be held on Wednesday 23 July 2008, starting 9 am and finishing 11.30 pm, at Library Services, Coorparoo Education Precinct, 347 Old Cleveland Rd, Coorparoo.

The program is designed for Education Queensland school library personnel who are or will be responsible for SCIS downloading, e.g. Library aides. No previous knowledge of SCIS is assumed.

Staff from the Library Services SCIS Unit will deliver the training, which will focus on creating orders by ISBN, and SCIS OPAC searching at Basic and Guided search levels to retrieve records for resources in all formats.

A maximum of 10 participants can be accommodated in the session, as training will be hands-on. Morning tea will be provided.

A certificate of completion will be issued at the conclusion of the training program, as recognition of professional development.
