The Information Update Service is available to all interested DETA staff serving the Education Portfolio and Training Queensland (excluding TAFE Institute personnel).
These services include items from commercial databases.
The License Agreements for subscription to these databases only allow use
by DETA staff serving the Education Portfolio and Training Queensland (excluding TAFE Institute personnel). The alerts should not be provided to non-Departmental
staff in any format [electronic or print].
The service comprises ten specialised alerting services:
- Early childhood update
Latest issues and trends in early childhood (P-3) education (monthly).
- Education in the news
Weekly summary of state, national and international news coverage of education,
and issues impacting on education in Queensland.
- Education update
Latest issues and trends in education, particularly those informing current
policy-making and governance (monthly).
- Educational leadership and management update
Latest issues and trends in educational leadership, educational management
and accountability (monthly).
- ICT (Information and Communication Technology) update
Current issues and trends in information and communication technology in education,
schooling and learning (bi-monthly).
- Inclusive education and disability update
Latest issues and trends in inclusive education, and education of students
with disabilities (monthly).
- Leadership and management update
Latest issues and trends in leadership, management and public administration
(monthly).
- New book titles
Advance notification of New Professional book titles available in the Library
before they are placed on display (fortnightly).
- New journal titles
Advance notification of new issues available and photocopying request service
(fortnightly).
- Professional development update
Latest issues and trends covering school-based personnel and their professional development
(bi-monthly).
Content includes:
- Selected news reports sourced from accredited websites and online news
services.
- Links to current journal articles with full-text available online.
- Online reports, conference papers and electronic books.
- Website alerts.
- New titles, bibliographies and services from Library
