Please note: not all virtual books include audio.

Technical requirements

These virtual books are designed to work best using Adobe Flash Player 8.0 or higher. If your computer does not have Adobe Flash Player installed you need to download and install the free Adobe Flash Player to view the contents.

Screen resolution and browser version
The virtual books are best viewed in 1024 x 768 resolution via the settings on your computer and using Internet Explorer 7 or above.

Charlie Pasta story

Charlie Pasta

Charlie Pasta cook master is a short highly illustrated chapter book about a boy called Charlie who dreams of being a chef. When a cooking competition comes to his small country town, he competes. This narrative tells of Charlie's adventures leading up to, during and after the competition. It is suitable for Year 3 students who are beginning to read chapter books.
PCAP books

PCAP (Priority Country Area Program) books

These interactive digital books are part of a series of illustrated readers produced as part of a PCAP funded project. The simple text provides useful examples of recounts, procedural texts, simple narratives and traditional stories. Stories about animals and the environment provide insight into life in Far North Queensland.
Rosie and Wallace stories

Rosie and Wallace stories

There are 30 virtual books in this series. The books contain recounts and stories of Rosie the rosella and her best friend Wallace the wallaby.

The Rosie and Wallace books are also available in PDF format and can be downloaded from the Learning Place resource centre.
