– Young Australians' Best Book Award
YABBA is devoted to promoting Australian fiction to children. The YABBA
awards are presented annually and children choose the books awarded. Awards
are in 3 sections: Picture Story Books, Fiction for Younger Readers, Fiction

The Queensland Readers Cup
Teams of four students from Years 6/7 and Years 8/9 compete in regional finals by reading five or six set titles. As a team they answer questions on each of the books. The winning team goes on to the state finals in Brisbane to represent their region..
