- mood and atmosphere
- dialogue
- Specially memorable or useful features:
- flashbacks
- first person narrative
- clarity of writing
- Theme topics in demand and of interest to students.
- Literary qualities:
- depth of perception
- sensitivity of writing
- use of humour
- escapist literature
- Suitability for reading aloud - does it read well?
- Presentation:
- overall presentation
- educational use
- binding
- durability
