Schools Catalogue Information Service (SCIS)

Library Services, Department of Education, Training and the Arts is the Queensland agency for cataloguing onto SCIS (new window), the national retrieval and cataloguing service for schools in Australia and New Zealand.

SCIS provides high quality, consistent cataloguing data for Australian school libraries through a national data base of over 0.75 million catalogue records for educational resources that:

Records on the database may be downloaded direct into a school's automated library system. This saves Teacher-librarians time compared with the alternative of each Teacher-librarian individually cataloguing similar resources. It also ensures the quality and consistency of access to curriculum resources, as SCIS follows internationally accepted standards for the cataloguing of educational resources.
