- SCIS record numbers are used to order records, where an ISBN,
ISSN or ISMN is not available on the resource.
- Each SCIS catalogue record has a SCIS record number. The number
is a unique number and can be up to 7 digits long.
- Particular types of resources tend to be published without ISBNs - for
example, charts, games, pictures, kits, videorecordings (including DVDs), and
software.
- SCIS record numbers are always used to order records for websites
and learning objects.
- A SCIS record number is usually found via a search on SCIS OPAC,
using information such as title of the resource, author, etc.
- Two search screens can be used in SCIS OPAC. The default screen is Basic search; the other screen is Guided search.
