Worksheet 2: creating an online order file for resources without ISBNs

Background information

Exercise: creating an online order file for resources without ISBNs

This two-part task requires you to create an Order file using the SCIS record numbers for resources. To find the SCIS record number, you need to search the SCIS OPAC cataloguing database. Searching hints are provided under each question.

Hint: You can have a Create orders screen, and a SCIS OPAC search screen open at the same time, so you can copy and paste the SCIS record number into your order file. Go to File on the top menu, click on New in the drop-down box, and select Window. For the new window, you then navigate to the screen you need. Alternatively, use the keyboard shortcuts, Ctrl-N. To toggle backwards and forwards between the two windows, use Alt-Tab buttons by pressing down the Alt-key, and then the Tab-key on the left of your keyboard
