Full-Fee paying international students studying in Queensland Government schools may enrol in subjects offered through the Brisbane School of Distance Education
(BSDE) but will need to meet the cost of this service delivered by BSDE.
There are two possible options available to international students:
(a) If a student chooses to study one or more of their normal subject caseload (i.e. six subjects) by distance education, then the host school should remit the cost for the subject or subjects to the BSDE from the funds received from EQI; or
(b) If a student wishes to study a subject or subjects in addition to their normal subject caseload (i.e. six subjects) then the student will be required to pay an additional tuition fee to the BSDE to cover the cost of this additional service.
In both cases above, the student would receive the coursework and undertake their study under the supervision of their host school. Please be advised that the school at which the student is enrolled retains responsibility for monitoring the student 's attendance and academic progress according to EQI guidelines in association with the student 's visa conditions.
The following conditions apply to distance education enrolments:
Additional details are available on EQI's Distance Education Factsheet (new window) 52k
