• Agreement reached on teachers' EB
  The State Government and the Queensland Teachers' Union have reached an agreement that will lift teacher pay by 12.5 per cent over three years. The deal also means boosts in pay levels for new graduates, experienced classroom teachers, and school leaders including principals.

• New parent resources - Achieving with literacy and Numeracy
  A new suite of parent resources, Achieving with Literacy and Numeracy, has been developed to assist parents with their children's literacy and numeracy skills. The new resources include a range of fact sheets and activities for the early, middle and senior phases of schooling.

• Download the 2010 School Calendar
  The 2010 School Calendar (new window) is now available to download from the Education Views website. Semester 1, 2010 commences for students on Wednesday 27 January.

• Turnaround Teams
  In early 2010 teams of specialist teachers will visit Queensland schools under a two-stage plan to boost the literacy and numeracy of students from disadvantaged areas. The Turnaround Teams will work with principals and teachers under the Low Socio-Economic Status School Communities National Partnership, which is supporting state and non-state schools in the most disadvantaged areas of Queensland.

  The Right to Information is the Queensland Government's approach to giving the community greater access to information.

• Education Scholarships
  Scholarship information from the Department of Education and Training includes teaching scholarships, TJ Ryan Medal, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander teaching scholarships and more.

• Bound for Success
  Education Strategy for Torres Strait is a strategy to increase opportunities for Torres Strait Islander children and young people and has been released following consultation with the community. Children and young people living in the Torres Strait face greater challenges than others in accessing education and achieving academic success. For many children and young people, English is often their second or third language, and some need to move away from their families to attend high school.

  Partners for Success is Education Queensland's key strategy for the continuous improvement of education and employment outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
