Release One Technical Trial

Ten schools participated in the initial technical trial of the OneSchool Release One (the Entree). School leaders in each of the ten schools are part of the 150 ICT leaders, who form the OneSchool Guiding Coalition.

During the technical trial, specific dependencies were tested to ensure the application can be implemented and used within the Department's enterprise platform and technical environment.

The technical trial began at Chancellor State College in May with the remaining nine schools going live with the application in Term 3 2007. The other nine schools were: Albany Creek State School, Taigum State School, Kenmore State High School, Caboolture Special School, Talara Primary College, Ipswich State High School, Karalee State Primary School, Logan Reserve State School, and Woongoolba State School.

In Term 4, 43 more schools joined the technical trial increasing the number of schools participating to 53. These schools were located across the state ensuring trial schools were located in all ten regions. They represented a range of school types including primary, high schools, P to 12 and special schools.

A Smart Classrooms Coordinator (formerly Entree Liaison Officer) from each trial school participated in activities designed to create training and change management plans for their individual schools with OneSchool team representatives prior to the implementation of Release One in their school.

Knowledge gained as a result of the trial has provided the OneSchool team with information and experience to benefit all schools during the state wide implementation of Release One which began in term one 2008.
