Deployment

Overview

Deployment of OneSchool involves more than just the application going live in a school. It also requires school leaders to make considered decisions around the implementation of the functionality in the school setting. Implementation of the functionality is about transforming how school practices and procedures are performed to further support the enhancement of relationships and the enhancement of student learning. It involves ongoing leadership, and the management of change and training requirements by the school leaders and the Smart Classrooms Coordinator (SCC).

Schools will be required to engage in a range of activities before and after the application is deployed. High level strategic documentation is provided to assist school leaders to become familiar with expectations and requirements for each release of additional functionality in OneSchool. These documents are to encourage thought and in some instances early planning for implementation of OneSchool functionality. Documents are available within the OneSchool application via the Help menu: Support and Training > Deployment.

5 Key Areas of Deployment

Deployment encompasses five key areas and will require schools to engage in a range of activities related to each of these areas before and after deployment. As schools are unique, not all schools will need to carry out all of the activities associated with each of the following five areas.

  1. School Readiness
  2. Management of Change
  3. Staff Training
  4. Application Use
  5. Ongoing Support

Deployment support materials are developed for each OneSchool release including pre-deployment readiness activities, and data validation documents. Deployment materials and checklists for each OneSchool release can be accessed from within the OneSchool application via Support and Training > Deployment in the Help menu.

OneSchool School Administrator

Within the OneSchool application is the role of School Administrator. The School Administrator has specific responsibilities including configuring the application to meet school needs.

OneSchool School Administrator request form and change form have been developed for use when:

This form must be emailed to OneSchool Support by the principal. The forms are available within the OneSchool application via the Help menu: Support and Training > School Management > Access Forms.
