OneSchool Release Three

In 2011, OneSchool is planning to deploy Release Three functionality to all state schools in a staged rollout. Release Three will deliver the functionality to replace the existing School Management System (SMS).

Release Three functionality will include school finance and student management. More specifically this release will deliver functionality for:

The Department's HRMIS Program will deliver their Work Place Health & Safety system in parallel with the OneSchool Release Three deployment schedule.

OneSchool Release Three is being designed and built in modules by the OneSchool development team. The finance module in this release will be procured from a leading international software house and customised to meet the needs of Queensland state schools. The finance module will be fully integrated into the OneSchool application.

Data will be migrated from SMS into OneSchool as part of the deployment process.

Release Three presentations to Business Services Managers, Administrative Officers, Principals and Deputies have been occuring. Regional Liaison Officers (RLOs) have been appointed to facilitate the deployment of the Release Three functionality, including the delivery of training. RLOs began their duties on 4 October 2010.

OneSchool Release Three functionality will extend the scope of the shared student record created by functionality in Releases One, Two and Two: Timetabling. Additionally, it will expand the scope of the information in the facilities record initially created with Release Two: Timetabling and establish a finance record. The facilities and finance records will be able to be shared with corporate systems.

The pilot of Release Three commenced on 27 April 2011 at two schools and was extended to include an additional 37 schools in May.
