In Semester 2, 2010, OneSchool delivered an additional module to Release Two. This module provides timetabling functionality to all schools. This functionality has been designed to enable schools to construct school, student and teacher timetables in schools. Functionality in this release enables the production and maintenance of the school timetable, daily supervisions, and school rosters, and will meet the needs of all Queensland schools including primary, secondary, P-12 colleges and special schools.
Release Two: Timetabling provides a consistent framework for recording and sharing relevant, timely and appropriate student, staff, subject, class, class enrolments, and facility usage information directly with decision-makers.
Release Two: Timetabling enables the initial development of a shared staff record and enables further process improvement. Appropriate corporate staff members can access information such as the number of teachers in a particular site, teacher types, teacher loads and class sizes to assist future analysis, planning and reporting.
Also a shared facilities record is developed as a result of this release. The provision of which enables information to be extracted to assist with corporate activities such as major works analysis and planning.
Release Two: Timetabling functionality is a vital component of the OneSchool application. Configuring reporting and curriculum periods are directly dependant on the school's timetable constructed in OneSchool. When Release Three is deployed during 2011 managing student enrolment and attendance will also be dependent upon Timetabling. From the beginning of 2011, information from the timetable will directly populate fields and reduce some of the previously required configuration in the application. For example by constructing a timetable in OneSchool, you will not have to create a curriculum period. It is suggested schools are aware of the deployment timeline for OneSchool Release Three and review the Release Three and Release Two: Timetabling FAQs because of the interdependencies of the OneSchool releases.
In Semester 2, 2010 all schools had to construct a 'future ' 2011 timetable in OneSchool. As many schools had begun the process for constructing their future 2011 timetable in their existing timetabling system before this release was deployed, processes were put in place to assist schools to map their future timetable into OneSchool.
OneSchool Timetabling Liaison Officers (TLOs) were appointed for Semester 2, 2010 to support the deployment of this release including providing training.
Release Two: Timetabling is being built in-house by members of the Department's OneSchool development team. A pilot began in May 2010 and the functionality was made available to all state schools during Semester 2, 2010.
OneSchool team members demonstrated the timetabling functionality at presentations around the state during Semester 1, 2010. To provide insight into the functionality being delivered in Release Two: Timetabling, multimedia presentations which included screen shots and information were developed.
