Ready Reading

Supporting the future of our children through reading.

Ready Reading logo
Reading is a powerful tool to help children grow their vocabulary, language skills and imagination. It helps children to develop lifelong skills that will support their future growth and learning.

Parents, caregivers and community members are invited to share the joy of reading and help improve literacy for children in Queensland by joining the Ready Reading program.

As a Ready Reading volunteer, Queenslanders will have the opportunity to make a difference in their local community by supporting children's reading.

The program, in partnership with Volunteering Queensland, will provide training to ensure volunteers are supported in their endeavours to help our students to grow and develop through reading. Ready Readers will be connected to schools in their local area to participate in their reading programs.

Register with Volunteering Queensland to become a Queensland Ready Reading Volunteer from 14 May 2018. In the meantime if you would like to register your interest to be involved in the program, email the Community Engagement and Partnerships team today.
