Fanfare and MOST to continue with AEG Ogden sponsorship

International venue management organisation AEG Ogden has joined the Queensland Government in a public private partnership to fund popular music programs Fanfare and Musically Outstanding Students (MOST).

Minister for Education, Training and Employment John-Paul Langbroek and jazz legend James Morrison, Artistic Director of the Queensland Music Festival, put out the call for sponsors in late July.

AEG Ogden will provide $150,000 over two years, as well as host the events at their venues. The organisation manages venues throughout the Asia Pacific region, including the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, Cairns Convention Centre, Suncorp Stadium and the Brisbane Entertainment Centre at Boondall.

The partnership will see the Department of Education, Training and Employment provide the coordination and administration of the programs and events and AEG Ogden contribute the necessary funding.

Fanfare and MOST are held on alternate years.

MOST, to be held in 2013, is an extension program for Musically Outstanding Students from state secondary schools. Up to 77 students from throughout the state come together to further develop their skills in a residential program.

Fanfare, to be held in 2014, is a music festival for Queensland state school bands and orchestras, attracting up to 19,000 students each year it is held.
