Creative Generation artworks on show
April 2009

Kelvin Grove State College's Jenny Suann and Angus Waller.
Schools are being urged to nominate their talented visual artists for Queensland's top student art and design awards program as the 2008 participants' artworks go on display in Brisbane.
The Creative Generation Excellence Awards in Visual Art and Design Touring Exhibition opened at the Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA) in March, showcasing 40 works created by last year's top senior visual art students.
The exhibition aims to inspire a new generation of young artists and raise community awareness of the high-quality art programs offered in Queensland secondary schools.
GoMA will feature the exhibition until May 17 before it tours regional galleries, including Chinchilla, Atherton, Gladstone, Townsville, Cairns, Texas and Springsure.
The e-catalogue and touring schedule are available on the Creative Generation website and the Queensland Art Gallery has developed an online education resource
with questions and activities for class groups visiting the exhibition.
Submissions for the 2009 program are open to state and non-state schools which offer senior visual arts.
Schools are invited to submit up to four students' artworks by uploading digital photographs to a secure website.
Award recipients will be invited to participate in a five-day residential workshop with professional artists and have their work included in a central exhibition in Brisbane and a 12-month touring exhibition of regional galleries throughout Queensland.
Submissions close on July 24. For more information, visit the Creative Generation website or email the project manager.
