Nominate a noteworthy Australian
04 August 2009
If you know of a teacher, administrator or young person who deserves to be acknowledged for their outstanding contribution to their community or Australia at large, nominate them in the Australian of the Year Awards.
Each year, as part of Australia Day celebrations, the Australian of the Year Awards recognise and celebrate the achievements of people who inspire us to contribute to a better nation.
Nominations are open for the four categories: Australian of the Year, Senior Australian of the Year, Young Australian of the Year and Local Hero.
Our staff and students, through their hard work, determination and tenacity, contribute to the growth, success and value of our community.
It is important to acknowledge their efforts and accomplishments through these awards.
To nominate a colleague, friend, family member, community leader or public figure who makes you proud to be an Australian, download a nomination form from the National Australia Day Council's Australian of the Year website
Nominations close on August 31.
The Queensland recipients will be announced at a function in November and will become national finalists in the awards announced on Australia Day eve.
