Gold Coast schools to crown their own
18 August 2009
South-East Queensland educators are invited to attend the Gold Coast State Secondary Schools Teacher Gala Ball and Awards Ceremony.
To be held at the Marriott Resort and Spa on August 21, the event recognises the 1300 teachers on the Gold Coast and the quality of education they provide to students from Year 8 to 12.
The awards are open to teachers currently teaching in state secondary schools in the Gold Coast education district. Each school selects their own teacher nominee to be a finalist. The overall winner is announced during the evening gala celebrations.
Winners will receive a $5000 prize courtesy of Griffith University. Nominees will receive a high definition camcorder courtesy of Videopro.
Gold Coast primary and special schools will host their own gala ball at Jupiters' Casino on September 12.
Tickets for both events can be organised through Upper Coomera State College or by contacting Lauren Forrest on 5580 7555.
