At the movies ... Brisbane State High's Solomon Goddard, Forest Lake State High's Lauren Parkes, Gordonvale State High's Felicity Honnef, Pine Rivers State High's Mitchell Gatt, Indooroopilly State High's Hannah Stadler and Brisbane State High's Rebecca Boyle.
A group of high school film critics enjoyed a sneak preview of this year's TransLink Cine Sparks as winners in a movie review competition.
As part of their prize in the statewide Cine Sparks Young Reviewers contest, eight student jurors gave up their recent school holidays to critique a selection of movies from Australia's leading film festival for young people.
The reviews by Rebecca Boyle, Year 11, Brisbane State High; Lauren Parkes, Year 12, Forest Lake State High; Mitchell Gatt, Year 12, Pine Rivers State High; Ani-Eva Fisher and Wyarnah Murray, Year 11, Aboriginal and Islander Independent Community School; Solomon Goddard, Year 8, Brisbane State High; Felicity Honnef, Year 8, Gordonvale State High; and Hannah Stadler, Year 8, Indooroopilly State High, are on the Cine Sparks website.
The students will select one of the films to receive a special award at the end of the St.George Bank Brisbane International Film Festival of which Cine Sparks is a part.
TransLink is offering free return travel to school groups attending this year's event, which is on from July 30 to August 9.
