Copy right, not wrong

20 July 2009

Teachers have a new resource to help them better understand copyright and the rules that apply to them.

Teachers use other people's copyright works daily. Increasingly this includes copying material from the Internet.

Also, new technologies such as interactive whiteboards, wikis and blogs enable teachers to use copyright material in different and exciting ways.

Australian copyright law has specific statutory licences and education exceptions that allow teachers to use copyright works in various ways.

The Smartcopying website external page (will open in a new window) contains practical and simple information for teachers.

It also has links to sites where teachers can find material that is free to use, modify and share for teaching and learning.
