Online Queensland history lesson
June 2009

One of the items from the Becoming Queensland virtual exhibition, which highlights Queensland's first 50 years.
Teachers and students can enjoy a unique history lesson thanks to Becoming Queensland, a new virtual exhibition that looks at Queensland's first 50 years.
Becoming Queensland explores the state's beginnings from Proclamation in 1859 to the 1909 Jubilee celebrations as a dynamic 'work in progress'.
The exhibition is organised around the themes of Hope, Taking Shape, Queensland Style and Turning 50.
The virtual exhibition weaves together stories about people, places, institutions, lifestyles and items from the John Oxley Library that helped shape Queensland.
It is available from the State Library of Queensland's website
