Nominate an outstanding teacher
June 2009
School communities are encouraged to nominate their outstanding teachers in the Queensland College of Teachers' (QCT) Excellence in Teaching Awards.
This is the first year the awards program has been run and will end with a ceremony attended by Governor Penelope Wensley in Brisbane on World Teachers' Day on October 30.
All registered Queensland teachers are eligible, with nominations accepted from teachers, principals and school community members.
There are two categories: excellence in teaching and excellence in beginning to teach.
Award winners will each receive $5000 grants, while finalists will earn $500 towards professional development.
Nominations close on July 24.
