PAN conference to boost creativity
MARCH 2009
A state-wide group of primary teachers who volunteer to help other teachers engage more students in creative pursuits will meet in Brisbane in April.
The Primary Arts Network is holding its annual state conference on April 20 at the State Library of Queensland, the Gallery of Modern Art, Queensland Art Gallery and South Bank Cultural Precinct.
In line with the Year of Creativity in Queensland schools, the conference aims to connect teachers with "creativity in public spaces" to promote creativity and learning for children.
Australian Children's Television Foundation education manager Deborah Cohen will open the conference as the keynote speaker.
Highlights will include workshops, performance arts, creating with mud, drawing Queensland to celebrate Q150, designing and assessing arts programs, drama, early childhood focus in two-dimensional arts, music that enlivens every muscle, clay animation and a presentation by Indigenous artist Tony Albert.
