State-wide SATs review
MARCH 2009
Training Ombudsman Peter Ruhanen is conducting a state-wide review of the school-based apprenticeships and traineeships (SATs) system in line with the actions of the Queensland Skills Plan 2008.
The review will look at how creative partnerships are used to increase student participation in vocational education and training in schools and in school-based apprenticeships and traineeships.
"All stakeholders in the VET sector are invited to provide submissions on the existing school-based apprenticeship and traineeship models and make suggestions to assist me in my review and to meet the objectives of the State Government in the doubling of the participation rate of school students in school-based apprenticeships and traineeships," Mr Ruhanen said.
Submissions should be received by 1 April, 2009.
They should be sent to training@trainingombudsman.qld.gov.au or via post to Locked Mail Bag 527, GPO Brisbane 4001. For more information visit the website or contact the office on 1300 306 399.
