New classification structure

A new classification structure for Queensland state school teachers and school leaders was introduced at the start of the 2009 school year.
The new classifications were introduced to fulfil an enterprise bargaining commitment.
All teachers are grouped in one of three streams: teaching (covering all classroom teachers with no changes to classifications), heads of program (heads of curriculum, heads of department and others), and school leaders (including principals, deputy principals and executive principals).
