Free war memorial resources for schools
03 November 2009
The Australian War Memorial has a range of free learning resources for teachers to help educate students about Australia's role in war.
Schools can borrow one of six themed memorial boxes, each focusing on a different era or facet of the nation's involvement in war.
Each box contains authentic and replica artefacts that students can handle, as well as photographs, case studies, uniforms, equipment, models, a DVD or video, oral histories, and more.
The boxes suit students from lower primary to senior secondary and include a resource book to give teachers background information and suggested classroom activities.
