More than 1800 classrooms in more than 300 schools will be rebuilt and refurbished under the $200 million final round of the State Schools of Tomorrow (SSOT) program.
Premier Anna Bligh and Education and Training Minister Geoff Wilson made the announcement at Brisbane's Everton Park State School on November 9.
Ms Bligh said the program would deliver the most modern school facilities to students throughout the state.
'Work on the first 44 of these projects is nearing completion with the remaining 320 projects to be planned and delivered by June 2011,' she said.
'This huge investment in school infrastructure is part of the Government's commitment to supporting and creating Queensland jobs.
'We are transforming our schools with these projects because we know having 21st century facilities and technology will help us to improve student achievement.'
Mr Wilson said the first round of SSOT had already revitalised old school sites with new and renewed classrooms and resources.
'We are spending $390 million on projects in Brisbane's Bayside, Eastern Ipswich, Inala and Innisfail in far north Queensland,' he said.
