Smiles all round for science education stars

Education and Training Minister Geoff Wilson presented the 2009 Peter Doherty Awards for Excellence in Science and Science Education to some excited teachers and students at a ceremony at the Customs House in Brisbane on October 1.
Ten teachers, two science operations officers and six senior students received awards recognising their outstanding contributions to improving the status of science and science education in Queensland.
The awards honour leading Queensland scientist, Nobel laureate and former Indooroopilly State High School student, Peter Doherty.
