Help prevent youth suicide
27 October 2009
The Commission for Children and Young People is trying to reverse a growing rate of youth suicide in Queensland.
Suicide has become one of the most common causes of preventable deaths among children.
Queensland's suicide rate for 10 to 17 year olds is twice the national average.
The statistics have prompted the Commission to produce a discussion paper, the first of its kind in Queensland.
Teachers and other education staff are encouraged to the read the Reducing Youth Suicide in Queensland discussion paper
and complete the online survey
Your input will help to develop future efforts to prevent youth suicide.
Closing date for submissions is November 30.
