Female teachers and students can be part of a Schools Challenge on March 6 by taking part in the RACQ Insurance International Women's Day Fun Run/Walk organised by Brisbane Road Runners Club.

The Schools Challenge trophy and prizes will be awarded to the school with the most entries.

The 5km run/walk starts at 7am and finishes in the Cultural Forecourt on the Parklands at South Bank in Brisbane. Last year it attracted more than 7,500 runners and walkers.

Prizes will be awarded to overall highest fundraising for a school. Schools wishing to collectively raise funds for the major beneficiary, breast cancer charity chicks in pink, can create a fundraising page to encourage support.

The only change forced by the recent floods is expected to be car parking, with some facilities still likely to be out of action and parking available in the Cultural Centre and across the river in the Myer Centre

For more details and to register online check out the RACQ Insurance International Women's Day Fun Run website.

Volunteering is also another great way of supporting the event. Email volunteer coordinator Jo Neary at iwdfr@brisbaneroadrunners.org for more information.
