More locations announced for fast-tracked kindy services
23 June 2011
Locations for a further 14 kindergarten services fast-tracked to be opened on Queensland state school sites in 2012 have been announced.
The newly announced openings form part of the Queensland government's $321 million investment in establishing up to 240 extra kindergarten services by 2014 throughout Queensland - in areas where they are needed most.
To date, the Government has committed to open 108 of the 240 extra kindergarten services by the end of 2012, co-located on state and non-state schools sites.
Education Minister Cameron Dick said the Government was on track to achieve its commitment of up to 240 extra services.
'This announcement of the 14 fast-tracked kindergarten locations comes soon after the recent announcement of new services to be co-located on non-state school sites.
'Despite the natural disasters that have affected Queensland, it is reassuring to know that our commitment to deliver kindergarten services to Queensland children remains on track,' Mr Dick said.
Locations of the extra kindergarten services are available on the Office of Early Childhood Education and Care website.
