Ekka education served on a platter

Queensland teachers are invited to sample a smorgasbord of internationally acclaimed RNA educational delights at an information evening hosted by celebrity chef Dominique Rizzo.

The evening will give educators the chance to explore a menu of RNA initiatives specifically designed for teachers and students. Available during and outside Brisbane's 10-day Ekka, the initiatives include the internationally awarded Teachers' Cheesemaking Workshops, Rural Discovery Day and the Ekka Learning Trail.

As Queensland's largest classroom, the RNA provides opportunities throughout the year for teachers and students to learn about food and agriculture in free, interactive ways.

In addition to the education focus at the information night on 14 March, Master of Wine Rizzo will serve matched cheeses and award-winning ice-cream at the RNA Showgrounds Governors Pavilion.

Teachers attending the event can find out what RNA activities more than 25,000 school students are participating in each year, and hear from colleagues who have previously attended RNA educational initiatives.

The first educational events for 2012 will be the Teachers' Cheesemaking Workshops this month and the popular Rural Discovery Day in May.

More details about this year's RNA events, along with amazing Queensland produce, will be on offer at the RNA Educators Information Evening at the Governors Pavilion on 14 March from 5pm to 7pm.

For catering purposes RSVP by 12 March to or (07) 3253 3927.
