Bungunya State School is located 70 km west of Goondiwindi in the Darling Downs-South West Queensland region.

When did it open?
August 1, 1919.

How did it get its name?
Bungunya means 'dry camp' in the local Indigenous dialect.

We have 19 students.

How long have you been principal?
Since the start of the year.

Best thing about your school?
The students and community - they're awesome.

Claim to fame?
Bungunya has three staff members who have all reached 25 years service with Education Queensland.

The school has a beautiful cottage garden and lovely students that are nurtured by wonderful staff.

School motto?
'Pride and Right' and this year, 'We're going to shine in 2009!'.
