Flying Fish Point is 110km south of Cairns, nestled between the rainforest and the beach.

When did it open?
It opened as a provisional school in January 1899 and became a state school in 1935.

How did it get its name?
The flying fish of course!

Since July last year.

What's the best thing about your school?
The kids, staff and parents - we have a great community.

Claim to fame?
Showcase Award for Excellence in Schools 2002 for our performing arts program Federanza and a Showcase Awards for Excellence in Schools 2004 for our performing arts program, Djiriburra - The Musical.
