Where is it?
Severnlea State School is situated just off the New England Highway, only a five-minute drive south of Stanthorpe.

When did it open?
Severnlea opened on October 30, 1918.

How did it get its name?
Originally it was known as Beverley State School and was changed to Severnlea in 1922, after the Severn, the longest river in Great Britain.

How many students?
The school currently has 32 students from Prep to Year 7.

How many staff?
We have one teaching principal, three part-time teachers, three teacher aides, one admin assistant and one cleaner.

How long have you been the principal?
This is my second year at Severnlea State School.

What's the best thing about your school?
Sensational students, staff and community who came from near and far, and are tolerant and co-operative.

Claim to fame?
Head of the Granite Belt Cross Country - a really tough course.

School motto?
'With Joyful Spirit'
