SMART CLASSROOMS: Student ICT expectations now available

December 2009

A framework of the ICT knowledge and skills Queensland state school students are expected to develop from Prep to Year 10 is now available on the Smart Classrooms website.

The Student ICT Expectations outline the learning expected by the end of Years 3, 5, 7, 9 and 10. The guidelines will help teachers plan the continuity and progress of each student's learning.

The expectations are based on the National Statements of Learning for Information and Communication Technologies and the Queensland Curriculum Assessment and Reporting Essential Learnings.

Implementing the framework will help schools prepare for the coming national curriculum which will recognise that successful learners are creative and productive users of technology.
