SMART CLASSROOMS: Calling all ICT innovators
14 April 2010
If you or you know a teacher who is integrating ICT into the classroom in an outstanding or innovative way, the Smart Classrooms team wants to know about it.
The Smart Classrooms Teachers Awards recognise teachers who innovate and excel in teaching and learning with ICT.
E-Learning director Laurie Campbell said nominations were open for teachers with a Digital Pedagogy Licence or higher.
'We know there are thousands of amazing teachers working in Queensland schools, who are doing great things with ICT in the classroom,' Mr Campbell said.
'Every one of these teachers is eligible to enter.
'Teachers can nominate themselves or be nominated by colleagues, principals or Smart Classrooms Mentors.'
Entrants will be partly assessed on the portfolio they put together to obtain their Digital Pedagogy Licence.
Each award winner receives a $5000 prize package* to attend conferences or courses that extend their understanding and practices in ICT in education, undertake research projects or studies.
They will be invited to attend an intensive two-day Smart Classrooms Teacher Awards winners' Master Class on the Gold Coast on August 18 - 19.
This Master Class will reflect the winners' level of digital pedagogy and extend their professional development.
Nominations close at 5pm on May 7 and the winners will be announced at a formal event on the Gold Coast on August 16.
For more information and to download the nomination form visit the Smart Classrooms website.
* A portion of the $5000 prize will be used for structured professional development, including the eLearning Innovation Expo and Smart Classrooms Teacher Award winners' Master Class.
