Show holidays

With the Brisbane Ekka just around the corner, it is timely to remember all Queensland state schools receive only one show holiday annually. In Brisbane, that day is Wednesday 15 August. From this year onward, there is no additional day off for students.

Elsewhere across the state, schools close for either an appointed show holiday or a day in lieu if the area does not have a show. To find out more about show holiday dates visit the Justice and Attorney-General website External Link.

For all state schools, the only student free day that falls during term time occurs on the third Monday after spring holiday. To find out more about student free days visit the Department of Education, Training and Employment website.
